The Eastern Washington University track and field teams competed this weekend (Feb. 20-21) at the Vandal College in Moscow, Idaho, where Christy Borders, Emily Jacobsen and Kyle Ulrey qualified for the Big Sky Conference Championships on Feb. 27-28 in Flagstaff, Ariz.
Borders finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.02 to qualify her for the conference championships. She also finished fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 35-11 1/2.
Jacobsen had a weight throw of 52-9 1/2 to qualify for the BSC Championships. That mark ranks her seventh in school history. She also finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 39-5.
On the men’s side, Kyle Ulrey finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 49.24 to qualify for the Big Sky Championships.
