Limpf and Bridgmon Top Finishers for Eagles

Finishing just one second apart, Eastern Washington University's Paul Limpf and Curtis Suver recorded top 10 finishes for the Eagle men's cross country team at the Big Sky Conference Championships Saturday in Sacramento, Calif.

Limpf covered the 8,000-meter course in 24:45.8 for a seventh-place finish and was followed by Suver in eighth at 24:46.7. Mattie Bridgmon was Eastern's top finisher in the women's 5,000-meter race, placing 12th with a time of 18:15.8.

Eastern's women's team finished sixth with 135 points, just four points away from equaling the school's best-ever finish of fifth. The Eagle men were seventh with 175 as Weber State won both the men's and women's team competitions.

Besides Limpf and Suver, other Eastern finishers included Shaun Helm (51st; 27:03.2), Andrew Marks (54th; 27:21.6), Cody Chappell (55th; 27:22.0) and Tyler Justus (61st; 28:06.3).

Other women's finishers included Camile Moseley (16th; 18:27.7), Amber Nickelson (19th; 18:28.0) and Ariel Taylor (55th; 20:07.5). Note: places 39th-48th were unavailable.

Eastern concludes its season at the NCAA Mountain Regional in Albuquerque, N.M., on Nov. 11.
