Tournament Passes are on sale for $15, with 300 free tickets for EWU students currently available
Pairings have been set for next week's Big Sky Conference Volleyball Championships at Reese Court in Cheney, Wash. The event is hosted by Eastern Washington University by virtue of being the league's 2008 regular season champion. The event is being presented by Harvest Foods.
The semifinals will take place at 5 and 7 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 27), while the title contest will start at 7 p.m. the following evening. Portland State (14-2, 20-7) finished as the regular season champion and will be the No. 1 seed and play No. 4 Montana (10-6, 14-13) in the 5 p.m. game. The No. 2 seed is Eastern Washington (12-4, 18-10) and the Eagles host No. 3 Northern Colorado (12-4, 19-11) at 7 p.m.
The winner s of the semifinals will play in the title game on Saturday (Nov. 28) at 7 p.m. The winner earns the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament, which starts the following weekend.
Tournament passes, good for general admission to all three matches, are on sale for $15 either on-line (www.goeags.com) or at the door. Single-day prices are $10 for adults, $7 for students and $3 for children in grades K-12. Children 5-and-under are admitted free.
There are 300 free tickets for EWU students with valid identification available at the EWU Bookstore at the Pence Union Building or the EWU Athletic Ticket office at Reese Court. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.
The Eagles previously hosted the tournament in 2004, 2003, 2002 and 1989.
