Chenoa Rossi-Childress will transfer to EWU from Feather River College
Chenoa Rossi-Childress, a 6-foot-1 middle blocker from Feather River College, has signed a letter of intent to attend Eastern Washington University next fall and play volleyball for head coach Miles Kydd.
Rossi-Childress is a 2008 graduate of Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas, Nev., and played two seasons at Feather River, located in Quincy, Calif.
As a sophomore in 2009, she was a first team All-Golden Valley Conference selection and ranked in the top five in two categories in the 107-member California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). She was fourth in blocks per set (1.33) and fifth in kills per set (4.03). In addition, she had a .350 hitting percentage and averaged 3.74 digs and .39 aces per set.
“Eagle Volleyball is very excited with the addition of Chenoa to our team,” said Kydd. “She is a well-rounded player as evidenced by her statistics from her sophomore year, and we feel that she will add to an already strong group of middle blockers on our team. Chenoa’s maturity and experience will also be of great benefit to us beyond the 2010 season.”
While a senior at Las Vegas High School, she was the 2007 MVP of the Northeast Division in the 4A Sunrise Division in Nevada. She was a first team All-Northeast Division selection as she led her team to a perfect 12-0 division mark and 13-5 overall record.
