2008: For the second straight season, Brown
earned Big Sky Conference All-Academic accolades. On the second day
of the season, she had two of her five double-digit kill

Washington State with two service aces and a pair of blocks. Brown
also had a trio of career marks in a 3-1 loss at Northern Arizona
on Oct. 4, tallying 16 kills and 21 digs to go with two aces. That
contest saw Brown record a double-double for the first time, while
her dig total far surpassed her previous career mark of nine. She

2007: Brown was named to the Big Sky
Conference’s All-Academic team. She played well in successive
matches versus Utah State and San Francisco, compiling eight and
five kills, respectively, in those contests. Late in the season,
she took over on the left side for an injured Chelsea Ross. Her top
performance came in her first full match following that incident,
as she hit .400 (11-1-25) in a 3-1 win over Montana State. Two
matches later, Brown set a season high in kills with 16 against
Northern Colorado. In three of the last four contests of the
season, Brown had 10+ kills. Her 14 putaways in the Big Sky
quarterfinals helped the Eagles to a dramatic 3-2 win over Northern
Arizona.
High School: Her senior year, Brown was named to
the 2B All-State first team and was the Most Valuable Player of the
North Central League. She also earned MVP honors in basketball.
Each of those teams placed sixth at state that year. In the state
track meet, she was fourth in the 400-meter run and eighth in the
long jump as a junior, seventh in the high jump as a senior. She is
the daughter of Penny and Gary Brown and is majoring in recreation
management and outdoor recreation. Her sister, Laney, is a redshirt
freshman on the 2008 EWU squad.
