Rebecca Wood moves into her second year as an Eagle assistant coach. Prior to arriving at Eastern in 2006, she spent the past two years coaching the Spokane Splash U-16 team. That squad was the champion of the 2006 Pacific Northwest Qualifier and was a two-time champion at a tournament in Yakima. She also has spent time coaching Gonzaga Prep, her alma mater. Last season, Wood helped coach the Eagles to an impressive turnaround, as Eastern Washington rallied from a 0-5 Big Sky Conference start for a 10-6 third-place finish and seventh-consecutive berth in the championship match. Wood earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Gonzaga University in 2005 after starting her collegiate career at Saint Mary's College. As a Gael, she earned West Coast Conference All-Academic honors. Wood also coached boys volleyball from 2001-03 at De La Salle High School in Concord, Calif.
