Eagles Fall to League Favorite Sacramento State

The Big Sky Conference schedule isn't getting any easier for the Eastern Washington University women's volleyball team (7-7, 0-5) as the Eagles were swept by Sacramento State (15-4, 3-0) 30-20, 30-23, 30-21 Thursday (Sept. 28).

Chrystal Johnson had a double-double for the Eagles with 12 kills and 16 digs. She was the only Eastern player to have double digit kills or digs. Amanda Yausie led the Eagles in assists with 31.

The Hornets held the Eagles to a .054 hitting percentage for the match. In game one the Eagles hit their best in the match at only .083. The Hornets however hit .311 for the match and didn't hit below .263 in any game.

Sacramento State is the favorite to win the Big Sky Conference title. The Hornets have won the last four Big Sky Conference Tournament championships and have advanced to the NCAA Tournament in eight of the past nine years.

Eastern is still searching for its first Big Sky win of the year. The Eagles will get their next opportunity on Saturday (Sept. 30) when they travel to Weber State.
