It took a little time, but the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team finally got things rolling. In the final round of its final tournament of the fall season, Eastern shot a season-low 313 to finish tied for 11th out 15 teams at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate.
Playing in its third tournament in as many weeks, the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team finished 14th at the 2011 Rose City Collegiate, held Monday (Sept. 26) and Tuesday (Sept. 27) at the Langdon Farms Golf Club in Portland, Ore. Of its first three events of the fall season, this tournament proved to be most challenging for EWU, as the Eags posted a total team score of 991 (331-334-326) to finish last in the 14-team field, which did include four of nine Big Sky schools.
Despite a less than favorable team finish, the Eastern Washington University women’s golf team had plenty of positives to take away from its second event of the 2011 fall season. The Eagles finished 13th out of 13 at the Cougar Cup, held Monday (Sept. 19) and Tuesday (Sept. 20) in Pullman, Wash. After enduring some wild winds in the first round, Eastern finished with a cumulative team effort of 983 (339-321-323).
The Eastern Washington University women’s golf team had an encouraging experience in its first tournament of the 2011-12 season, but the team is still looking to refine a few final pieces. The Eagles recorded a total team score of 969 (326-323-320) to finish 21st out of 22 Division I teams at the Circling Raven Collegiate Invitational in Worley, Idaho.
